People Who Thanked God In The Bible

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful - Colossians 4:2

1. Miriam

Miriam thanked God by playing her tambourine and danced with all the women when God saved them from the Egyptians after they crossed over the Red Sea. Sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea! – Exodus 15:21.

2. Hannah

Hannah thanked God for granting her petition for a son. My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation - 1 Samuel 2:1.

4. Solomon

King Solomon thanked God for all He had done in the presence of all the assembly of His people while dedicating the temple. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it - 1 Kings 8:15.

5. Daniel

Daniel prayed three times a day and gave thanks to God. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously” (Daniel 6:10).

8. Jesus

Jesus gave thanks to God before distributing the bread and fish to five thousand people. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted – John 6:11.

9. The Leper thanked Jesus

Ten lepers came to Jesus for healing and Jesus sent them to the priests, and they were all healed. Only one of them returned back and thanked Jesus. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan – Luke 17:15.

10. Paul

Paul always expressed thankfulness to God for the people to whom he is writing. When he writes to the Thessalonians, he opens with: “We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers” (1 Thessalonians 1:2).

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us devote ourselves in prayer being watchful and thankful. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
