And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days - Daniel 6:10.
Daniel was in captivity of Babylon
and during that time a decree was signed that if anyone petitions any God
except King will be cast into the den of lions. All the governors of the
kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have
consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that
whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be
cast into the den of lions - Daniel 6:7.
Daniel continued to pray and give
thanks to God even after he heard that the petition was signed. Now when Daniel
knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his
windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day,
and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days -
Daniel 6:!0. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus - 1 Thessalonians
5:18.
God rescued Daniel when he was thrown into
the den of lions. He rescues and he saves; He performs signs and wonders in the
heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions -
Daniel 6:27. God will rescue us and show us His salvation in our life as we give thanks to Him
in all circumstances. Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, to the
blameless I will show my salvation - Psalm 50:23.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to give thanks
to You in all circumstances. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
