Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people” - Luke 2:10.
The shepherds were the
first to hear about the birth of Christ. And behold, an
angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around
them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be
afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all
people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is
Christ the Lord - Luke 2:9-11.
As soon as the shepherds
heard about the birth of Christ, they went to see Him immediately. When the
angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another,
“Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has
told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby,
who was lying in the manger - Luke 2:15,16.
The shepherds spread the
good news about the birth of Jesus with others. When they had seen
him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them - Luke
2:17,18. They returned praising and glorifying God. And the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been
told them - Luke 2:20. Let us c choose spread the good news to others. You know the message
God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through
Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all - Acts 10:35.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to spread the good news to others. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
