Blessed is he who considers the poor - Psalm 41:1.
We are so blessed when we consider the poor as God will deliver us in time of trouble and strengthen us in sickness. Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed - Psalm 41:1-3. Blessed is the one who is kind to the needy - Proverbs 14:21.
Tabitha helped the poor and so God strengthened and sustained in her bed of illness. In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor - Acts 9:36. She was raised her from dead when Peter prayed for her. But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up - Acts 9:40. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in - Matthew 25:35.
Let us help the poor and be blessed. "Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me" - Matthew 19:21. He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy - Proverbs 14:31. He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses - Proverbs 28:2. A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor - Proverbs 22:9.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us consider the poor and be blessed. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
