Turn Away My eyes From Looking At Worthless Things

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things - Psalm 119:37.

Turn away eyes from looking at worthless things

We fill ourselves with darkness, when our eyes look at worthless things. The eye is the lamp of the body as what we allow into our eyes actually fills our heart. Jesus tells us about the eye, “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness” Matthew 6:22-23. As our heart is who we are, we should be very careful to turn away our eyes from looking at worthless things.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

We will never be ashamed but radiant when our eyes look to the Lord. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed - Psalm 34:5. Our help will come from the Lord as our eyes look to the Lord. I will lift up my eyes to the hills - From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth - Psalm 121:1,2. May we seek the help of God to set our eyes on what is holy and worthy and to set our eyes on things unseen.

Let our eyes be ever toward the Lord instead of looking at worthless things. My eyes are ever toward the Lord - Psalm 25:15. My eyes are fixed on You, Sovereign Lord; in You I take refuge - Psalm 141:8. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith - Hebrews 12:1, 2. Look unto Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other - Isaiah 45:22.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us turn away our eyes from looking at worthless things. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Paul's Preaching

Necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! - 1 Corinthians 9:16.

Paul Preaches in Athens

While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was deeply troubled by all the idols he saw everywhere in the city. He went to the synagogue to reason with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and he spoke daily in the public square to all who happened to be there - Acts 17:16,17.

Paul and Silas ministering at Berea

Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men - Acts 17:10-12.

Paul addressed the Areopagus

Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands - Acts 17:22-24. However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them - Acts 17:34.

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature - Mark 16:15.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes - Romans 1:16.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age - Matthew 28:18-20.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

He Has Done All Things Well

He has done all things well - Mark 7:37.

Jesus healed a man who was deaf and mute to hear and speak. Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened." Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly - Mark 7:36, 37.

The people who saw this were astonished beyond measure and said "He has done all things well." Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”- Mark 7:36, 37.

Let us thank God who had done all things well in our life. This was the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes - Psalm 118:23. For He who is mighty has done great things for me - Luke 1:49. He does great things beyond our understanding - Job 37:5. Do not be afraid, land of Judah; be glad and rejoice. Surely the Lord has done great things! - Joel 2:21.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, With You all things are possible. We thank You for doing all things well in our life. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Thank God For Breaking Obstacles In Our Life

Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut - Revelation 3:8.

The walls of Jericho fell down as the people of Israelites followed the instructions of God.  So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city - Joshua 6:20.

God will break all the obstacles that are before us and open all the closed doors in our life as we walk by faith and obey Him like the Israelites. Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it - Luke 1:28. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days - Hebrews 11:30.

Let us thank God for breaking all the obstacles in our life and giving us victory. The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head - Micah 2:13. I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron - Isaiah 45:2.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for breaking all our obstacles in our life and giving us victory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

He Gives Power To The Weak

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength - Isaiah 40:29.

God's grace

God's grace is sufficient for us when we are weak. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me - 2 Corinthians 12: 9. The grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant - 1 Timothy 1:14. For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace - John 1:16.

Wait on the Lord

Our strength is renewed like eagles as we wait on the Lord. But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint - Isaiah 40:31. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! - Psalm 27:14.

Let us thank God who gives us power when we are weak. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong - 2 Corinthians 12:9,10. He will continue to strengthen us, carry us and deliver us until our old age. Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you - Isaiah 46:4.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for giving us power and increasing our strength when we are weak. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

God's Works

I will remember the works of the Lord - Psalm 77:11.

Great and marvelous works

God had done great and marvelous works in our life. Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! - Revelation 15:3. Remember His marvelous works which He has done - Psalm 105:5. Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works - Psalm 86:8.

Wondrous works

God had done wondrous works in our life. Your works are wonderful - Psalm 139:14. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God - Job 37:14. He has made His wonderful works to be remembered - Psalm 111:4. One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works - Psalm 145:4,5.

Let us thank God for His great, marvelous and wondrous works in our life. I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds - Psalm 77:11,12. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose - Romans 8:28.

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things - Ecclesiastes 11:5.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your great, marvelous and wondrous works in our life. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him and he was a Samaritan. Luke 17:15-16. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well” - Luke 17:17-19.
