Peter's Powerful Ministries

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth - Acts 1:8.

Peter did powerful ministries after the filling of the Holy Spirit. He fed the sheep as Jesus directed him to do. Jesus said, "Feed my sheep” - John 21:17. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven - Matthew 16:18,19.

 Peter preached his first sermon

Peter became one of the primary leaders of the early church and he preached the first  sermon on the day of Pentecost, and 3000 people believed and were baptized.  Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them - Acts 2:41.

Sick people healed miraculously

Peter healed people and worked miracles. And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.  Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed - Acts 5:14-16.

Aeneas healed

There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately - Acts 9:33, 34.

Tabitha healed

Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord - Acts 9:40-42.

Received the Holy Spirit

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit - Acts 8:14,15,17.

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature - Mark 16:15.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give - Matthew 10:8.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us go into all the world, preach the gospel and do powerful ministries with the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Blessed Are The Peacemakers For They Shall Be Called Sons of God

Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God - Matthew 5:9.

Our God who is the Prince of Peace, Himself is our peace. He is a peacemaker who made peace through the cross. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility - Ephesians 2:14-16. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ - Romans 5:1.

Jesus told the disciples before His death on the cross that He gives them His peace. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid - John 14:27. And following His resurrection from the dead, He stood in the midst of the disciples and said to them 'Peace to you'. Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you” - Luke 24:36.

Let us also be blessed by being the peacemakers and be called as sons of God. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone - Romans 12:18. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace - Ephesians 4:2, 3. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful - Colossians 3:15.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Peacemaker. Let us also be the peacemakers and make peace with everyone. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Peter's Restoration

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness - 1 John 1:9.

Peter denied Jesus three times and then He remembered the word of the Lord. Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me” - Luke 22:34. Then he began to curse and swear, "I do not know this Man of whom you speak!" - Mark 14:71. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” - Luke 22:61.

Peter went out and wept bitterly after denying Jesus. So Peter went out and wept bitterly - Luke 22:62. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren - Luke 22:32. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin - Psalm 32:5. He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea - Micah 7:19. For You have cast all my sins behind Your back - Isaiah 38:17.

Like Peter, let us also confess our sins to the Lord who is faithful to forgive us and receive mercy. He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy - Proverbs 28:13. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us - Psalm 103:10-12.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for being faithful and just to forgive us our sins as we confess it to You and for restoring us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

I Am Making All Things New

Behold, I am making all things new - Revelation 21:5.

God who is the Maker of all things will make all things new in our life when we are in Him. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things - Ecclesiastes 11:5. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new - 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Our God is the Maker of new way in the wilderness where there is no way. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland - Isaiah 43:19. Just as God did for the Israelites by making a way in the sea, He will make a new way in our life of wilderness. Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters - Isaiah 43:16. Nothing is impossible for God and all things will become new in or life. For nothing will be impossible with God - Luke 1:37.

Let us thank God for making all things new in our life and walk in the newness of life just as Christ was raised from the dead. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life - Romans 8:7. God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did - Romans 4:17.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for making all things new in our life by making new way in the wilderness. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
