Forgetful And Fruitful

“Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, ‘It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.’ The second son he named Ephraim and said, ‘It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.'” - Genesis 41:51.

MANASSEH  - Making to Forget

“God has made me forget all my troubles and all my father’s household.”

Joseph named his first son Manasseh as God made him forget all his troubles. He forget the pain of being sold into slavery by his brothers and his awful days in prison. So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt - Genesis 37:28. Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined - Genesis 39:20.

EPHRAIM - Fruitfulness

“God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”

Joseph named the other son as Ephraim to represent how God made him fruitful in the land of his affliction. Not only did God made Joseph forgetful but he also fulfilled the dream He had promised Joseph and made him as the second in command of all the land. And, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt. Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt” - Genesis 41:41,44.

God brought Joseph so much joy in the latter part of his life that he forgot the pain he had endured and he was fruitful in the land of affliction. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children - Genesis 50:20,21.

God who made Joseph forget his past sorrows and made fruitful in the land of his suffering will make us also forget our past sorrows and make fruitful in the land of our suffering. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you - Genesis 17:6.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for blessing us. We thank You for making us to forget all our past sorrows and making us fruitful in the land of our suffering.

You Saw My Affliction

I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul - Psalm 31:7.

God saw the affliction of Israelites

The Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. So I have come down to deliver them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey" - Exodus 3:7,8.

God saw the affliction of Hagar

The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.” Then he added, “I will give you more descendants than you can count.” And the angel also said, “You are now pregnant and will give birth to a son. You are to name him Ishmael (which means ‘God hears’), for the Lord has heard your cry of distress. She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me" - Genesis 16:9-11, 13.

The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men - Psalm 33:13.

For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps- Job 34:21.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw our affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord - Lamentations 3:25-26. Humble yourselves under God's mighty hand

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time - 1 Peter‬ ‭5:6‬.

Listen to His voice

Have confidence that He hears us if we ask anything according to his will

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

Fear not

Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Stand on God's word

Psalm 119:105: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Be transformed by the renewal of mind

Romans 12:2: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Do not be anxious

Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Trust God, Not People

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act - Psalm 37:5.

Psalm 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the Lord;

he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit,

    out of the mud and mire;

he set my feet on a rock

and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth,

a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear the Lord

and put their trust in him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Help us to wait patiently on You for a breakthrough in our life. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

The Earth Is The Lord’s

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters - Psalm 24:1, 2.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light - Genesis 1:1-3.

The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it - Psalm 89:11.

To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it - Deuteronomy 10:14.

In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it, And His hands formed the dry land - Psalm 95:4-5.

How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number - living things both large and small - Psalm 104:24-25.

For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them - 1 Samuel 2:8.

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours - 1 Chronicles 29:11.

It is I who made the earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts - Isaiah 45:12.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made - John 1:3.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him - Colossians 1:16.

By faith, we understand the world to be fashioned by the Word of God, so that the visible might be made by the invisible - Hebrews 11:3.

For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted - Psalm 87:9.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse - Romans 1:20.

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth - Psalm 121:2.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Lord of all the earth. We thank you for the gift of this earth that is made and created by Your Word. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Let The Peace Of God Rule In Our Hearts

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6,7.

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all - 2 Thessalonians 3:16.

Revived By God’s Word

Revive me, O Lord, according to your word - Psalm 119:107.

The Word of God gives us hope and comfort in affliction and gives us life. Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life - Psalm 119:49–50. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul - Psalm 94:19.

The Word of God that is powerful, alive and active, transforms us and guides us. The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart - Hebrews 4:12. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. - Psalm 119:105.

Let us treasure the Word of God that revives us. I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food - Job 23:12. How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! - Psalm 119:103. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God - Matthew 4:4. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation - Psalm 119:99.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your Word that revives us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

All Things Work Together For Good

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose - Romans 8:28.

In the life of Joseph, all the following things work together for good as He loved God. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him - 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Hated

When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him - Genesis 37:3.

Sold to Midianites

So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt - Genesis 37:28.

Sold to Potiphar

Meanwhile, the Midianites sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard - Genesis 37:36.

Falsely Accused by Potiphar's wife

The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me; so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside - Genesis 39:17,18.

Thrown into prison

Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined - Genesis 39:20.

Forgotten

But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison. The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him - Genesis 40:14, 23.

Joseph lifted high

And, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt - Genesis 41:41. God blessed Joseph and made him as a blessing to his own family and others.

Pharaoh also said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man may lift his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt” - Genesis 41:44.

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive - Genesis 50:20.

Prayer: Dear Lord, We thank You and praise You. We believe that all things in our life work together for good as we love You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God” - Psalm 31:15. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord - Jeremiah 17:7.

Lean not on your own understanding

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones - Proverbs 3:7,8.

The Lord will guide you continually - Isaiah 58:11.

God Is Faithful To Provide The Way of Escape

God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it - 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Our God is faithful to not only allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able, but with the temptation He will also make the way of escape, that we may be able to bear it. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence - Psalm 91:3. But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one - 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

Only our eyes need to be ever toward the the Lord who will provide us the way of escape. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net - Psalm 25:15. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are my strength - Psalm 31:4. Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, And from the traps of the workers of iniquity - Psalm 141:9.

Let us thank God who is faithful to provide the way of escape for us during our temptation. Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth - Psalm 124:6-8.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness - Lamentations 3:22,23.

I Will Go To The Altar of God, To God My Exceeding Joy

Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God - Psalm 43:4.

God who is our exceeding joy puts more joy in our heart as we go to His altar. You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine abound. I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, LORD, make me live in safety - Psalm 4:7-8.

Let us go to the altar of God, to God our exceeding joy with hope, praise Him and receive joy instead of being disturbed within us. Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God - Psalm 43:4.

But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” - Luke 5:5.

At Your word I will let down the net

Jesus told Simon to put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch. Simon told Jesus that they have worked hard all night but caught nothing. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” - Luke 5:4,5.

When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking

They caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking as they obeyed God's Word and let down the net with trust on Him. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink - Luke 5:6,7.

Trust & Obey God's Word

Let us trust and obey God's Word like Simon as His plans for us prosper us and give us a future and hope. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."- Jeremiah 29:11. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts - Isaiah 55:8,9.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to trust You and obey your Word in all our situations. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

By Faith Abraham Obeyed

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going - Hebrews 11:8.

Abraham obeyed the voice of God by faith when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. He went out without knowing where he was going. Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." So Abram went, as the Lord had told him - Genesis 12:1-4.

As Abraham obeyed the voice of God, his son Isaac and all his descendants were blessed. Then the Lord appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws - Genesis 26:2-5.

Like Abraham, let us also obey the voice of God by faith and submit to God's leading. And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?” - Deuteronomy 10:12-13. If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth - Deuteronomy 28:1.

For we walk by faith, not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us obey Your voice by faith like Abraham. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Be Attentive To God's Word

My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart - Proverbs 4:20, 21.

We need to pay attention to God's Word that will not pass away. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away - Matthew 24:35. The Word of God sanctifies us, guides us and heals us. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth - John 17:17. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path - Psalm 119:105.  Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live - Isaiah 55:2,3. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God - Matthew 4:4. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me - John 10:27.

Good health & no diseases

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life - Proverbs 4:20-23.

If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you - Exodus 15:33.

Safe & no fear of evil

But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil - Proverbs 1:33.

Let us pay attention to God's Word and be blessed. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you - Psalm 119:11. Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance - Isaiah 55:2. Receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears - Ezekiel 3:10. Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways - Proverbs 8:32.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to pay attention to Your Word, walk according to it and be blessed. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

A Refuge From The Storm

For You have been a defense for the helpless, a defense for the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall - Isaiah 25:4.

God is our refuge in the midst of storms that come our way. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble - Psalm 46:1. He is the rock in whom we can take refuge and be safe. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold - Psalm 18:2.

God protects all those who take refuge in Him. He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him - Proverbs 30:5. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings - Psalm 61:3,4. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart - Psalm 91:4.

God is a refuge for all those who trust in Him. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” - Psalm 91:2. The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him - Nahum 1:7. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us - Psalm 62:8.

Let us take refuge in God, trust Him and be safe. In the Lord I take refuge - Psalm 11:1. Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing - Psalm 16:1,2. Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed - Psalm 57:1. Blessed are all who take refuge in him - Psalm 2:12.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our refuge from the storm. Let us take refuge in You, trust You and be safe as You protect all those who take refuge in You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
