Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Mathew 18:4.
God loves the people who are humble and He gives grace to them. But He
resists the people who are proud. Therefore, He says: “God resists the proud, but
gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6. When we humble ourselves and pray, God
will hear our prayers. When our spirit is humble and contrite, God will look on
us with favor. These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and
contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word - Isaiah 66:2.
When we cloth ourselves with humility, we will
value others above ourselves. We can also easily forgive others if we walk in
humility. Do nothing out of selfish
ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves - Philippians 2:3. God’s wisdom will be with us when we are humble. When pride
comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom – Proverbs 11:2.
As Jesus
humbled Himself to the point of death, God had highly exalted Him and given Him
the name above every name. Philippians 2: 8 – 12. Humble yourselves in the
sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up - James 4:10. As a little child, let
us humble ourselves and God will lift us up in due time. Therefore, humble
yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. I Peter 5:6.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to humble
ourselves like a child under your mighty hand so that You will exalt us in due
time. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
