Do not be afraid nor be dismayed because of this great
multitude for the battle is not yours but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15.
In 2 Chronicles 20, we see that the people
Moab and Ammon came to battle against Jehoshaphat. But instead of focusing on
the battle, Jehoshaphat fixed his eyes on God. O our God, will You not judge
them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against
us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You. 2 Chronicles 20:12.
There may be battles that come against us in
our life. Let us fix our eyes on God instead of the battle like Jehoshaphat.
There is no need to fear as the battle belongs to the Lord’s. Do not be afraid
nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but
God’s. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand
still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you – 2 Chronicles 20:15, 17.
Jehoshaphat
sent his singers in front of the army to proclaim, ”Praise the Lord for His
mercy endures forever” - 2 Chronicles 20:21. God turned their battlefield into
the valley of Berachah. Berachah means blessings. Whenever we face battles, let us praise God
for it and stand still to see the salvation of the Lord. As the Lord is with
us, He will fight all our battles for us. If God is for us who can ever be against
us. Romans 8:13.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Lord who
fights all our battles for us. Help us to fix our eyes on You and praise you
instead of focusing on our problems. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
