‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts - Zechariah 4:6.
Gideon
Gideon could not understand how can he save Israel as his clan is the weakest in Manasseh. Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”. So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man”- Judges 6:14-16. With just three hundred men, Gideon defeated Midianites. When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords - Judges 7:22.
Mary
Mary wondered how she will conceive in her womb and bring forth a Son as she was a virgin. Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” For with God nothing will be impossible - Luke 1:35,37. With God nothing will be impossible and Mary was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. She gave birth to her firstborn, a son - Luke 2:7.
By His Spirit
Nothing is possible by our might or power but all things are possible by His Spirit. With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible - Mark 10:27. You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you - Acts 1:8. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty - 2 Corinthians 3:17. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him - Isaiah 59:19.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We submit ourselves to You. We thank You as all things are possible by Your Spirit and not by our might or power. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
