Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content - Philippians 4:11.
Paul had learned to be content to go through all situations with the strength of God. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength - Philippians 4:12,13.
Paul had learned to be content even in his weakness as God’s grace is sufficient for him. My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong - 2 Corinthians 12:9–10.
Let us learn to be content with what we have. Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content - 1 Timothy 6:6-8. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs - 1 Timothy 6:10. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us learn to be content with what we have as You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
