For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart - 1 Samuel 16:7.
God does not see our outward appearance. He does not see us as the man sees but he looks our heart. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness - Matthew 23:27,28.
The incorruptible inner beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit is very precious in the sight of God than our outward beauty. Do not let your adornment be merely outward - arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel - rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God - 1 Peter 3:3,4.
Let us focus on developing our inner beauty that is very precious in God’s sight. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day - 2 Corinthians 4:16. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God - Matthew 5:8. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised - Proverbs 31:30. You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you - Song of Songs 4:7.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let our heart be always pure as You look at our heart and not the outward appearance. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
