Great Calm

 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm - Mark 4:39.

            Jesus told his disciples that they can cross over the other side and so they went in a boat in the sea of Galilee. On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side" - ‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭35‬.  Suddenly, a great storm arose and the boat was covered with the waves. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling - ‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭37‬.

             The disciples were filled with fear in that situation and they awoke Jesus who was asleep. “But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”” - ‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭38‬-‭40‬. 

              Jesus rebuked the wind and there was a great calm. Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm - Mathew 8:26. They came to the other side of the sea as told by Jesus before entering the boat.  Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes - Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭1. Storms and winds may come in our life but there will be a great calm as the word of God will never fail. For no word from God will ever fail - Luke 1:37.                                                       

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let there be a great calm in our life. Help us to trust You in the middle of storms and winds as Your words will never fail. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
