The Valley of Berachah

And on the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berachah, for there they blessed the Lord; therefore the name of that place was called The Valley of Berachah until this day - 2 Chronicles 20:26.

Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast for all Judah and waited for God’s direction, when a vast army came to attack them. For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you - 2 Chronicles 20:12. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding - Proverbs 3:5. This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s' - 2 Chronicles 20:15.

Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise Him at the front of the army and led the way into battle with thanksgiving, praise and worship. Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.” As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated - 2 Chronicles 20:21,22. God caused the enemies to destroy each other and the people of Judah were delivered without even lifting a sword.

Berachah means “blessings.” And on the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berachah, for there they blessed the Lord. We Went Through Fire And Water, But You Brought Us To A Place of Abundance

We went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance - Psalm 66:12.

God walked in the midst of the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego and they are not hurt. King Nebuchadnezzar saw four men walking in the midst of fire and they are not hurt. “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” - Daniel 3:25. And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them - Daniel 3:27.

There was a great storm on sea and the boat was covered with waves  when Jesus and His disciples were in a boat crossing the sea of Galilee. When Jesus rebuked the wind, there was a great calm and peace. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm - Mark 4:37,39.

Let us thank God for being with us when we went through fire and water. He brought us to a place of abundance and nothing had harmed us. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,  they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze - Isaiah 43:2.

Ebenezer

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us” - I Samuel 7:12.

Samuel set up a stone between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, as a way of expressing his gratitude for God’s help in directing Israel thus far. Ebenezer means “stone of help.” Thus far the Lord had helped us in so many ways. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand - Isaiah 41:10. Thank You Lord For Your Promises That Sustained Us

Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live - Psalm 119:116.

God’s promises sustain us, strengthen us, drive out our fear and despair, and help us to overcome every difficult situation. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh - Proverbs 4:22. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light - Matthew 11:28-30.

Return To Give Thanks To God

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him and he was a Samaritan - Luke 17:15-16.

Ten men with leprosy met Jesus and lifted up voice to have mercy on them. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priests. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.  And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed - Luke 17:12-14. They were healed as they went and showed themselves to the priests.

Only one leper out of ten returned to give thanks for what God had done for him.   One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him and he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well” - Luke 17:15-19.

Let us return to God to thank Him for all He had done in our life. I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds - Psalm 9:1. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever - Psalm 86:12. I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving - Psalm 69:30.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us return to You with a grateful heart to give You thanks for all You have done for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The Lord of Every Victory

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:57.

Our God is victorious. He fights for us and always wins. He had never lost a battle. He is the Lord every victory. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all - 1 Chronicles 29:11.

Brought out of Egypt

We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand; and the Lord showed signs and wonders before our eyes, great and severe, against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household - Deuteronomy 6:21,22.

Red Sea

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left - Exodus 14:21, 22.

Jordan

The waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan - Joshua 3:14-17.

Jericho

And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor” - Joshua 6:2. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city - Joshua 6:20.

Gideon - Midianites

God gave the army of Israel with 300 men victory over the army of Midian with 135,000 men. Thus Midian was subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted their heads no more - Judges 8:28.

For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory - Deuteronomy 20:4.

With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies - Psalm 108:13.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Lord of every victory. We thank You for fighting for us and giving us victory in all our battles. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
