To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified - Isaiah 61:3.
The garment of praise drives away the spirit of heaviness. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6,7.
David praised God all the day and drove away the spirit of heaviness. My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long - Psalm 35:28. Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments - Psalm 119:164. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever - Psalm 145:2. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God - Psalm 42:5.
Let us continually offer praises to God. Therefore, by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name - Hebrews 13:15. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth - Psalm 34:1. Let my mouth be filled with Your praise And with Your glory all the day - Psalm 71:8. I will bless You and praise Your name forever - Psalm 145:2.
PRAYER: Let us drive away the spirit of heaviness by putting on the garment of praise all the day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
