So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace - Judges 6:24.
The children of Israel cried out to the Lord
The children of Israel cried out to the Lord as the Midianites destroyed their land. For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it. So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord - Judges 6:5, 6.
God answered by sending Gideon to save Israelites
God told Gideon to go in the strength which he has to save Israel out of Midian’s hand. The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man” - Judges 6:14,16. So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace.
The Lord Is Peace - Jehovah Shalom
May the Lord who is peace, Jehovah Shalom give us peace always in every way. The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” - Numbers 6:24-26. Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all - 2 Thessalonians 3:16.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world - John 16:33.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are Jehovah Shalom, the Lord Is Peace. We thank you for giving us peace always in every way. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
