We Are Free Indeed

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed - John 8:36.

In Luke 13: 10 - 13, we see about a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her in the synagogue, He called her and set her free. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God - Luke 13:12,13. Jesus set her free and gave her a new life. For the first time in eighteen years, she stood up straight and looked people face to face.

There was a lame man who was paralyzed for 38 years and was laid by the pool of Bethesda. When Jesus saw him, He asked him whether he wants to be healed. There is no one willing to help him to put him into the pool. The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me” - John 5:7. But Jesus loved this man and had compassion on him. Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk” - John 5:8. Immediately, the man was made well and he was set free.

The truth will set us free. If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free - John 8:31,32. Jesus is the truth. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” - John 14:6. We are the children of God chosen and set free from the power of sins, sickness and darkness. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty - 2 Corinthians 3:17. Let us be set free from all bondages and be transformed into the likeness of God with ever-increasing glory.

Prayer: We thank You for setting us free from all bondages. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
