The Wall Fell Down

And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor” - Joshua 6:2.

God told the Israelites to march around the Jericho city for six days and in the seventh day for seven times. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him - Joshua 6:5.

The Israelites obeyed God with faith and marched around the city and the walls of Jericho fell down. They did this for six days. On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city!" - Joshua 6:14-16. So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city - Joshua 6:20.

Let us also obey and walk by faith like the Israelites for all the obstacles in our life to fell down. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days - Hebrews 11:30. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it - Revelation 3:8. I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron - Isaiah 45:2. The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head - Micah 2:13.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for breaking all the walls of obstacles in our life and giving us victory. Let us always obey Your voice and walk in faith. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
