Jesus Humbled Himself

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death - even death on a cross - Philippians 2:8.

God who created the world took the very nature of a servant and came to the world in the likeness of men. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2:5-8. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him - John 1:10.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a very humble way. He was laid in manger as there was no room in inn. And she gave birth to her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn - Luke 2:7. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger - Luke 2:11,12.

God highly exalted Jesus as He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father - Philippians 2:9-11.

Prayer: Dear Lord, We thank You for coming to the world in such a humble way and humbling Yourself and becoming obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross for saving us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
