And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray - Matthew 14:23.
Prayed very early in the morning
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed - Mark 1:35.
Prayed all night
Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God - Luke 6:12.
Prayed often
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed - Luke 5:16.
Prayed when baptized
When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased” - Luke 3:21,22.
Prayed and transfigured in the Mount of Transfiguration
Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening - Luke 9:28,29.
Prayed in the garden of Gethsemane to submit to the will of Father
Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane and submitted to the will of Father before He was crucified. He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will” - Matthew 26:39.
Prayed earnestly
Jesus prayed more earnestly in the garden of gethsemane in agony. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground - Luke 22:44.
Prayed with fervent cries and tears
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission - Hebrews 5:7.
Prayed from the cross
Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing - Luke 23:34.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”) - Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34.
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit - Luke 23:46.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us spend more time in prayer like You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
