We love because He first loved us - 1 John 4:19.
God first loved us and His love is manifested towards us as He had sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another - 1 John 4:7-11.
God demonstrated His own love for us as He died for us while we were still sinners. God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 5:8. By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us - 1 John 3:16. That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God - Ephesians 3:17-19.
Let us thank and praise God who first loved us and gave Himself for us. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life - John 3:16. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God - Ephesians 5:2. May we experience God’s love and love each other deeply. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins - 1 Peter 4:8.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You first loved us. We thank You for Your unconditional and never-ending love for us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
