Bezalel Used His Skills For God's Glory

See, the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,  and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills - Exodus 35:30, 31.

God chose Bezalel, Hur’s grandson to construct the tabernacle under the leadership of Moses. Then the Lord said to Moses,  “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills - to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,  to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts - Exodus 31:1-5. Hur was one of the two men who held up Moses’ arms during the Israelites’ battle against the Amalekites (Exodus 17:12,13).

Bezalel used his skills and gifts for the glory of God and also to teach others. And He has given both Bezalel and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others - Exodus 35:34. Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work - Exodus 36:2. He made the ark of acacia wood, the table of acacia wood, the lampstand of pure gold and the altar of incense of acacia wood - Exodus 37:1,10,17,25.

Like Bezalel, let us also offer us to finish the work of God and use our skills and gifts for the glory of God. So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses - Exodus 39:32. Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them  - Exodus 39:43. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do -  John 17:4.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for filling us with Your Spirit, wisdom, understanding, knowledge and with all kinds of skills. Let us offer our life to serve You for Your glory. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
