Guard Your Heart And Mouth

Guard your heart,  for everything you do flows from it - Proverbs 4:23.

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles - Proverbs 21:23.

Our words reveal our heart as out of the abundance of the heart our mouth speaks and everything we do flows from our heart. For out of the abundance of the heart, mouth speaks - Mathew 12:34. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies - Matthew 15:18,19. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he - Proverbs 23:7. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit – Proverbs 18:21.

Our mouth will praise God and speak graciously as we hide God's Word in our heart in abundance. Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You - Psalm 119:11. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart - Psalm 19:8. My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation - Psalm 13:5. My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long - Psalms‬ ‭71‬:‭8‬. My mouth shall praise You with joyful lips - Psalm 63:5. The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious - Ecclesiastes 10:12. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones - Proverbs 16:24.

Let us guard our heart with the word of God, praise God with our mouth and speak gracious words. The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking - Proverbs 15:28. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen - Ephesians 4:29. If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless - James 1:26. If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies - 1 Peter 3:10.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer - .

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to guard our heart and mouth. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
