Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you - James 4:7.
Jesus prayed to God who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of His reverent submission. In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission - Hebrews 5:7. O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will - Matthew 26:39.
Paul submitted his life to Christ who loved him and gave Himself for him and he lived by faith. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me - Galatians 2:19b-20.
Humility has to come before we can submit to God and we need to submit to God before resisting the devil. God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you - James 4:6,7. As we humble ourselves and submit to the will of God, God will lift us up in His perfect timing. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time - 1 Peter 5:6. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up - James 4:10.
Let us humble ourselves and submit to God. Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you - Job 22:21. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him - Proverbs 3:5,6. Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind - 1 Peter 3:8.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us humble ourselves and submit to You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
