Jesus Promised Another Helper

                 Before Jesus went back to Heaven, He promised to send the disciples another Helper, that He may abide with them forever the Spirit of truth who will dwell with them and be in them. If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth - John 14:16,17.

Received the Holy Spirit

                 After His ascension, all the disciples continued with one accord in prayer and supplication waiting for the promised Holy Spirit and they received it. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance - Acts 2:1-4.

Peter's sermon

                   Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit and he received the power he needed to feed the sheep which Jesus asked him to do. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole" - Acts 4:8-10. When he preached, about three thousand people were baptized and added to the church - Acts 2:41. They brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them - Acts 5:14.  

Power

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth - Acts1:8.

Hope

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit - Romans 15:13.

Boldness

When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness - Acts 4:31.

To walk in God's commandments

I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them - Ezekiel 36:27.

Revelation

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you - John 14:26.

New life

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you - Romans 8:11.

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! - Luke 11:13.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us be filled with the Holy Spirit and do great things for Your glory by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
