But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light -1 Peter 2:9.
Created by God to declare His praises
We are the people of God created by Him to declare His praises. This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise - Isaiah 43:21. But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel - Psalm 22:3. Praise the LORD, all nations; Laud Him, all peoples! - Psalms 117:1. Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant - Psalm 135:3.
Declare His praises as living stones
We are like living stones being built into a spiritual house to declare the praises of God. As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ - 1 Peter 2:4–5. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name - Hebrews 13:15.
Let us declare the praises of God who created us and called us out of darkness into his wonderful light. O Lord, open my lips, that my mouth may declare Your praise - Psalm 51:15. Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! - Psalm 147:1. Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints - Psalm 149:1. Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You - Psalm 67:3. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD - Psalm 150:6.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for calling us out of darkness into Your wonderful light. Let us declare Your praises as we are the chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and people belonging to You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
