People were overwhelmed with
amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf
hear and the mute speak.” - Mark 7:37.
Isaiah prophesied that God would
arrive and heal the eyes of the blind, the ears of the deaf, the walk of
the lame, and the voice of the mute. Be
strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with
divine retribution He will come to save you. Then will the eyes of the blind be
opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer,
and the mute tongue shout for joy - Isaiah 35:4-6.
A man who was deaf and mute
was brought by people to Jesus for healing. The people who brought him told Jesus
to put His hands on the man and to heal him. Jesus brought the man apart from the crowd and
He put His fingers into the ears of the man. Then He spit and touched the man’s
tongue. Jesus also looked up to heaven and said with a deep sigh, “Ephphatha” which
means “Be Opened!”.
Suddenly his
ears were opened and he began to speak as his tongue got loosened. Immediately
his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke
plainly - Mark 7:35. The people were amazed and said that “He has done
everything well”. Jesus came to save us and heal us. Let us thank God as He has done everything well in our life. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad - Psalm
126:3.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for
doing everything well in our life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
