Not By Might Nor By Power

Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, Says the Lord of hosts - Zechariah 4:6.

When Gideon was threshing wheat in a wine press, the Lord appeared to him and called him the mighty warrior. The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” - Judges 6:14. Gideon answered that he is the weakest in Manasseh and least in his family. Pardon me, my lord, Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family - Judges 6:15.
Gideon could not understand how can God use him. God helped him to overcome the weakness of hopelessness. The spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon. But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him - Judges 6:33. With just three hundred men, Gideon defeated Midianites. When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords - Judges 7:22.
The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses - II Cor. 10:4. We may think that we are not strong enough or not creative enough. But we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. The spirit of the Lord helps us in our weaknesses. Let us not trust the power of our wisdom, wealth, strength and experiences. Instead let us rely on the Spirit of the Lord with whom all things are possible.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Grant us strength to rely completely on You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
