Do everything without grumbling or arguing - Philippians 2:14.
The Israelites did not remember the miracles which God had done for them in the Red sea. They began to grumble against Moses and Aaron for food and water. But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?” - Exodus 17:3. Instead of waiting for God to work in their lives, they started grumbling. In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron - Exodus 16:2.
Grumbling is a sin. The Israelites
sinned by grumbling against God. Moses also said, “You will know that it was
the Lord when He gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you
want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are
we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the Lord - Exodus 16:8. The
Lord said to Moses and Aaron: How long will this wicked community grumble against
me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites - Numbers 4:26,27.
Our Lord is the God of miracles and all things are possible with Him. He knows
all our needs.
Grumbling spirit will begin to operate in our life when we feel discontent and fail to trust God. Paul says that he has learned to be content in all situations. Now godliness with contentment is great gain - 1 Timothy 6:6. When we grumble, we are unthankful to God and it dishonors God. Let us keep away from the spirit of grumbling and choose to trust the God of miracles at all situations. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door - James 5:9. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling - 1 Peter 4:9.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the God of miracles. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Let us to do everything without grumbling. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
