Have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long - Psalm 86:3.
Jesus granted the request of
a Canaanite woman by healing her daughter when she cried to Him to have mercy on
her. And behold, a woman of Canaan came
from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son
of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed” - Matthew 15:22. Then Jesus
answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as
you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour - Matthew 15:28.
Two blind men cried to
Jesus to have mercy on them. When Jesus departed from there, two blind men
followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” -
Matthew 9:27. Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let
it be to you.” And their eyes were opened - Matthew 9:29,30. While Jesus was going out of Jericho, two
blind men again cried to Jesus for mercy and they received sight (Matthew
20:29-31). Blind Bartimaeus cried to Jesus to have mercy on him and he received
sight (Mark 10:46-48). We receive healing by the mercies of God.
Ten lepers were cleansed when they lifted up their voices to Jesus to have mercy on them. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”, So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed - Luke 17:13,14. Let us cry to God to have mercy on us. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, Until these calamities have passed by - Psalm 57:1. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, Says the Lord, your Redeemer - Isaiah 54:8.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Your mercies are
great. Have mercy on us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
