Lead The Battle With Thanksgiving And Praise

Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever” -  2 Chronicles 20:21.

Seek the face of the Lord and proclaim a fast

Jehoshaphat set his face to seek the Lord and proclaimed a fast as soon as he heard that a vast army is against him. Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord - 2 Chronicles 20:4,5.

Our eyes are upon you

For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You - 2 Chronicles 20:12.

Battle is not yours but God’s

Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s - 2 Chronicles 20:15.

Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you - 2 Chronicles 20:17.

Enemies destroyed each other as they began to praise and thank God

Jehoshaphat put the Choir at the front of the army and led the way into battle with thanksgiving and praise. God caused the enemy to destroy each other as they began to sing and praise. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated - 2 Chronicles 20:22.

Valley of Berachah

God turned their battlefield into the valley of Berachah. Berachah means blessings. And on the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berachah, for there they blessed the Lord; therefore the name of that place was called The Valley of Berachah until this day - 2 Chronicles 20:26.

Rejoiced over enemies

The Lord made every man of Judah and Jerusalem to rejoice over their enemies and so they returned with joy. Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go back to Jerusalem with joy, for the Lord had made them rejoice over their enemies - 2 chronicles 20:27.

Let us lead all our battles with thanksgiving and praises. The Lord will fight for us as we seek His face. All our enemies will be defeated as we begin to praise and thank God. Let us stand still and the see the salvation of the Lord. The battle is not ours but God's. He will make us to rejoice over our enemies!!

PRAYER: We thank You and praise You as our battle is not ours but Yours. You are with us to fight for us and give us victory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
