Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy - 1 Timothy 6:17.
The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows - 1 Timothy 6:10. If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them - Psalm 62:10. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also - Matthew 6:21.
If we have trust in our riches that are uncertain, we are fools and not rich toward God. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God - Luke 12:19-21. He who trusts in his riches will fall - Proverbs 11:28.
Rather than trusting in our riches, let us trust God who gives us richly all things to enjoy. It is He who gives us the power to get wealth and the ability to enjoy them. to You say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’ “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth - Deuteronomy 8:17,18. Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil - this is a gift of God - Ecclesiastes 5:19.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us not have trust in our uncertain riches but trust You who gives us richly all things to enjoy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Amen. Thank you Jesus.
