For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth - 1 Timothy 2:3-4.
God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. People can be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth only when they hear the gospel preached by a preacher as faith comes by hearing. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God - Romans 10:17. Peter preached boldly about Christ and nearly three thousand people were saved. Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them - Acts 2:38,41.
When Paul and Silas went to Thessalonica, the jews called them as people who turned the world upside down. These who have turned the world upside down have come here too - Acts 17:6. Paul & Silas went to Berea and when they preached there, the people received the word with all readiness. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so - Acts 17:11.
Let us fulfill the desire of God by preaching the gospel to all nations of the world. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation - Mark 16:15. And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” - Romans 10:14,15.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to fulfill Your desire by spreading the gospel to all people. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
