I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food - Job 23:12.
God’s word brings joy and delight to our heart more than our necessary food. Your words were found and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart. For I am called by your name, O Lord God of hosts - Jeremiah 15:16. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes - Psalm 19:8.
God’s Word is sweeter than honey and more to be desired than gold and so let us have desire for it as newborn babes. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward - Psalm 19:10,11. As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow - 1 Peter 2:2.
Let us thank God for His word as we live only by it and not by food. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God - Matthew 4:4. The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of coins of gold and silver - Psalm 119:72. How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! - Psalm 109:103. May we treasure the word of God more than our necessary food. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh - Proverbs 4:22.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us treasure Your word more than our necessary food. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
