Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown - I Corinthians 9:24-25.
We need to run the race of our life that is set before us by God with endurance by looking unto Him in such a way to win the race. Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God - Hebrews 12:1–2.
God will give us the power and strength to run our race successfully as we wait upon Him. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might, He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint - Isaiah 40:29–31. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him - James 1:12.
Let us run the race with endurance and obtain the crown of life. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith - 2 Timothy 4:7. When the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away - I Peter 5:4. For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works - Matthew 16:27. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life - Revelation 2:10.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us run the race of life that is set by You for us with endurance and obtain the crown of life. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
