God Loves A Cheerful Giver

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver - 2 Corinthians 9:7.

God loves a cheerful giver. The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself - Proverbs 11:25. He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully  - 2 Corinthians 9:6. It is more blessed to give than to receive - Acts 20:35. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you - Luke 6:38. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap - Galatians 6:7.

A poor widow came to the temple and put an offering of two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Jesus told the disciples that she has put more into the treasury than all the others as she put in everything out of her poverty but others gave large amounts out of their wealth. Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything - all she had to live on.” - Mark 12:41-44.

It does not matter how much we give but the heart that gives cheerfully matters for God.  Let us be cheerful givers as God loves cheerful givers. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it - Malachi 3:10. Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase - Proverbs 3:9.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us be cheerful givers. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
