Connection With God

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful - Colossians 4:2.

Jesus took time and often went out to pray to connect with God. Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God - Luke 6:12. Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed - Mark 1:35. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray - Mathew 14:23.

Jesus who came to do the will of Father connected with Him by praying in the garden of Gethsemane and submitting to His will before He was crucified. He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will” - Matthew 26:39. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me - John 6:38.

Let us connect with God in prayer and submit all our requests in prayers and petitions like Jesus. During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission - Hebrews 5:7. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6,7.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us devote ourselves to prayer to be connected with You always. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
