You Have Turned For Me My Mourning Into Dancing

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness - Psalm 30:11.

Jacob mourned for many days for his son Joseph when he heard that a wild beast has devoured him. So they took Joseph’s tunic, killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the tunic in the blood. Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”.  And he recognized it and said, “It is my son’s tunic. A wild beast has devoured him. Without doubt Joseph is torn to pieces.” Then Jacob tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his waist, and mourned for his son many days - Genesis 37:31-34.

The spirit of Jacob was revived when he was told that Joseph was still alive. And they told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt.” And Jacob’s heart stood still, because he did not believe them. But when they told him all the words which Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the carts which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived. Then Israel said, “It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.” - Genesis 45:26-28.

God who put off Jacob's sackcloth and clothed him with gladness will turn our mourning into dancing too. For I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them, and make them rejoice rather than sorrow - Jeremiah 31:13. Your sorrow will be turned into joy - John 16:20. I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame - Joel 2:25-26.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for turning our mourning into dancing and making us to rejoice. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
