Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires - James 1:19, 20.
God desires everyone of us to be slow to speak as guarding our mouth will preserve our life and keeps our soul from troubles. He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction - Proverbs 13:3. Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles - Proverbs 21:23. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks- Mathew 12: 34.
Gracious words
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones - Proverbs 16:24.
Kind and pleasant words
When you talk, you should always be kind and pleasant so you will be able to answer everyone in the way you should - Colossians 4:6.

Let us speak only the words that build others and gives grace to others who hear - Ephesians 4:29.

Find opportunities to speak kind and tenderhearted words - Ephesians 4:32.
Words that bring healing
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing - Proverbs 12:18.
No idle word
But I say to you that every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement - Mathew 12:36.
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit - Proverbs 18:21.
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips - Psalm 141:3.
