Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God - 2 Corinthians 3:5.
Paul who was a highly educated and studied under Gamaliel says that his sufficiency is from God and he puts no confidence in the flesh. I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors - Acts 22:2,3. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh - Philippians 3:3.
Our sufficiency is from God, and His grace is all we need in weakness. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong - 2 Corinthians 12:9,10.
Let us thank God who is our sufficiency. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work - 2 Corinthians 9:8. Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life - 2 Corinthians 3:6. For in him we live and move and have our being - Acts 17:28.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the all-sufficient God and our sufficiency is from You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
