And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided” - Genesis 22:14.
Abraham named the place “Jehovah-Jireh” because of God’s gracious provision of ram as substitute and he sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of Isaac. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son - Genesis 22:13.
No one can provide all our needs so graciously at right time like our Lord God. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:19. He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? - Romans 8:32.
Let us thank God our Provider, Jehovah-Jireh and always trust His gracious provision for our needs. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing - Psalm 23:1. Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things - Matthew 6:31,32.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, God our provider. We thank You for providing all our needs graciously at right time. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
