Garment of Praise

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified - Isaiah 61:3.

David praised God all day long continually in all situations. My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long - Psalm 35:28. Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments - Psalm 119:164. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever - Psalm 145:2. Why, my soul, are you downcast?  Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God - Psalm 42:5.

Paul and Silas prayed and praised God at midnight in the prison. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed - Acts 26:25,26.

Let us put on the garment of praise and continually offer praises to God in all situations. Therefore, by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name - Hebrews 13:15.  I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth - Psalm 34:1. Let my mouth be filled with Your praise And with Your glory all the day - Psalm 71:8.  Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ - Ephesians 5:19-20.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us put on the garment of praise and continually offer praises to God. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
