Worship the Lord your God and serve him only - Luke 4:8.
The three wise men were among the first people to worship our Lord and Savior after He was born. Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him - Matthew 2:2. Behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy - Mathew 2:9,10.
They traveled for a long distance and with exceedingly great joy they rejoiced and worshipped Jesus and presented gold, frankincense and myrrh to Him. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh - Matthew 2:11.
Let us worship the Lord in spirit and truth and with gladness, joy, thankfulness, reverence and awe. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth - John 4:23,24. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs - Psalm 100:2. Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song - Psalm 95:1,2. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe - Hebrews 12:28.
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth - Psalm 96:9.
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker - Psalm 95:6.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us worship You in spirit and truth and with gladness, joy, thankfulness, reverence and awe. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Amen.
