Sin when words are many
God wants our words to be few as sin is not lacking when our words are many and we are accountable to God for every idle word we speak. In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise - Proverbs 10:19. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment - Matthew 12:36.
Be wise to speak wise words
We are wise when we are careful in what we say and speak wise words. Wise words bring many benefits - Proverbs 12:14. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health - Proverbs 12:18. The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious - Ecclesiastes 10:12.
Praise God all day long
Our words will be few as we praise God all day long with our mouth. My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long - Psalm 71:8. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord - Psalm 145:21. May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a double-edged sword in their hands - Psalm 149:6. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare your praise - Psalm 51:15.
Let our mouth praise the Lord and let our words be few. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth - Psalm 34:1. Let us speak only the words that build others and gives grace to others who hear - Ephesians 4:29. Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! - Psalm 34:13. Find opportunities to speak kind and tenderhearted words - Ephesians 4:32.
Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips - Psalm 141:3.
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives - Proverbs 13:3.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let our mouth speak praises of You all day long and let our words be few. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Amen.
