Possess These Qualities In Increasing Measure

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ - ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:8‬.

             We will be effective and productive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ when we possess qualities such as faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection and love in increasing measure. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:5-8‬.

                  We need to make every effort to possess these qualities in increasing measure. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law - Galatians 5:22-23. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection - Colossians 3:12-14. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us - 1 John 4:12. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see - Hebrews 11:1.

               May the Lord help us to possess all these qualities in increasing measure and to be effective and productive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness - 2 Peter 1:2,3. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - 2 Peter 3:18.                                                                             

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us be effective and productive and grow in Your knowledge of You by possessing qualities such as faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection and love in increasing measure. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
