Looking to Jesus, the founder and
perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the
cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of
God – Hebrews 12:2.
Victory over Satan
Jesus conquered Satan at
Calvary. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public
spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it - Colossians 2:15. 1 John 3:8 says,
“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work”.
Victory over sins
Jesus paid the penalty of our
sins that we might be forgiven. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for
us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him - 2 Corinthians 5:21. He
Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to
sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed - 1 Peter
2:24.
Victory over death
Jesus died on the cross for us to live. But
has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has
abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel -
2 Timothy 1:10.
Victory over darkness
God
has delivered us from the power of darkness. He has delivered us from the power
of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love -
Colossians 1:13. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us
from all sin - 1 John 1:7.
Victory over the world
Our God who lives in us is
greater than the one who is in the world. In the world you will have
tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world - John 16:33. For
whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has
overcome the world - our faith - 1 John 5:4. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But
thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Victorious life
When Christ died on the cross, the work of
salvation was completed and He provided access for us into His holy presence. Our old life is crucified as our spirit becomes joined to Christ as one spirit. Let
us lead a victorious life as Jesus had already defeated Satan on the cross and we
are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You as Your victory on the cross gives us hope to lead a victorious life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
