Hagar In The Wilderness

I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert - Isaiah 43:19.

Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away into the desert with some food and a skin of water. When the water in the skin was gone, Hagar put the boy under a bush and began to sob. God heard the boy crying and strengthened her by His promises. He calmed the fears of Hagar by telling her not to be afraid. But God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, ‘Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not be afraid! God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Go to him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants.’ - Genesis 21:17-18.
God made a way for Hagar in the wilderness by opening her eyes to see a well of water. Then God opened Hagar’s eyes, and she saw a well full of water. She quickly filled her water container and gave the boy a drink - Genesis 21:19. She filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. God was with Ishmael as he grew up. As He promised Hagar, a great nation was formed from the descendants of Ishmael (Genesis 25:12-16).
God sees us and hears us in times of our needs. For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You - Psalm 9:10. He will calm down all our fears and provide all our needs. Like how God made a way for Hagar in the wilderness by showing her a well of water, He will make a way for us in our wilderness experiences. He will fulfill all the promises in our life. He is our way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper and light in the darkness.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Lord who makes a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. We thank You for hearing us in times of our needs. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
