Awake,
you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light - Ephesians 5:14.
Peter and John went up together to the temple at
the hour of prayer. At the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, they
saw a lame man asking alms from those who entered the temple. The lame man
asked alms from Peter and John also. Peter told him to rise up and walk in the
name of Jesus. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I
do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” -
Acts 3:6. Immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength and people saw
him walking, leaping and praising God.
There
was a lame man who was paralyzed for 38 years and was laid by the pool of
Bethesda. When Jesus saw him, He asked him whether he want to be healed. There
is no one willing to help him to put him into the pool. The sick man answered
Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up;
but while I am coming, another steps down before me” - John 5:7. But Jesus
loved this man and had compassion on him. Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up
your bed and walk” - John 5:8. Immediately, the man was made well and he
walked.
Let us also rise up from our defeat and
walk victoriously with hope as the risen Lord is with us. We have to destroy the yokes
that the enemy has placed on our life by anointing and rise up for God. It
shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your
shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because
of the anointing oil - Isaiah 10:27. God calls us to rise up and walk for His
glory. Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is
risen upon you - Isaiah 60:1.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to rise up
and walk a victorious life for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
