Daniel had understanding in all
visions and dreams - Daniel 1:17.
Daniel led a godly life throughout his life.
He kept himself holy by not defiling with king’s meat. But Daniel purposed in
his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s
delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank -Daniel 1:8. He glorified God when
the mystery was revealed to him in the night. But there is a God in heaven who
reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in
the latter days - Daniel 2:28.
Daniel
had a spirit of excellence. Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the
governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king
gave thought to setting him over the whole realm - Daniel 6:3. As Daniel
believed God, lions did not harm him when he was cast into lion’s den. So
Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him,
because he believed in his God – Daniel 6:23.
Daniel
kneeled and prayed to God three times every day. And in his upper room, with
his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that
day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early
days - Daniel 6:10. None of the situations stopped the prayer of Daniel. Let us
set our heart to seek God by prayer every day.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to lead a
godly life and glorify Your name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
