Jesus Calms The Storm

But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm – Mathew 8:26.

Jesus and His disciples went in a boat crossing the sea of Galilee. Suddenly a great storm arose on sea and the boat was covered with waves. The disciples were filled with fear and they searched for Jesus. As Jesus was tired, he was asleep. So the disciples awoke Him to save them. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm - Mark 4:39.
As Jesus arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, the waves became still and there was a great calm in the sea. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet - Psalm 107:29,30. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast - Psalm 33:9. Jesus commanded the wind and the wind ceased immediately. The men marveled as they saw winds and the sea obey Jesus.
Miracles cannot work in the midst of storms when we have fear instead of faith. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” and they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” - Mark 4:40,41. Let us choose faith over fear in the midst of storms in our life. Jesus can calm all the storms and fill us with His peace.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for calming all the storms in our life and giving us peace. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
